Paint code on 4 moredoor plate listed as "LC"

Does anyone know where I may be able to figure out what the original match is for my 64 with a code of "LC"?

I am having the body and paint done next week and cant find any info on the net.

Here is the colour of the car:

I have a proper 1964 Canadian Pontiac paint chip chart at home (I'm at work now).

GM of Canada Paint Code Chart

General Motors of Canada, LTD. offered many of the same colors as their U.S. counterpart. Although these colors are listed as 1964 Passenger Colours on the paint code chart, it's unknown if these additional colors were available on Chevelles as well. Several Canadian colors were identical to U.S. colors, only the sales names were a bit different.

That would be amazing.  I found this chart online as well but as you can see there is no LC option.  It may be skyline blue or one of the lighter mettalics but its hard to tell.

theres no way it was a repaint unless it was a complete shell rotisserie with a full interior swap as well.

No ... Chev, Olds, Buick, & American Pontiac paint codes (and some paint colour names) are different than their Canadian Pontiac counter parts.

I think your car is Silver Blue Metallic.

My 1964 Parisienne's paint code is totally different than other C,B,O,P brands, but the name remains the same ... Lagoon Aqua Metallic.

As with a lot of parts for our cars, it's easier to give the Chev (Impala) equivalent paint code if there is a matching colour.

Go to our partial registry in, "main page, the library, The CP Full Size Pontiac Registry" and match your paint codes... That's what I always do... Great source of info on interior colours and options too...

NOW, that being said... That tag "possibly" isn't original to your car due to the non correct rivets.. The colours are incorrect as well as the interior trim code... "252" is rose and maroon...

Here is the exact car for those codes... Different body number and 4-dr sedan...

Feb. 5th 1964     7869      283ci         L/C    (252 rose & maroon)   Alberta   link
#745087     Parisienne 4dr sdn
Palomar Red/Ermine White     D99 U63  Kijiji

Oh wow I never considered that but now that you mention it I bet you are right.  I wonder why they would swap the tag?  Wierd

Detective Vince! Good eye on the rivets.

I just glanced at the tag, I was looking more at the surrounding paint colour. That tag is pretty clean also (besides the grime), no paint overspray.

Oh boy, the plot thickens.

There is a good chance that your original tag looked something like this (disregard the paint code):

Your colour (if it's the original colour)

Chev: Silver Blue Metallic code 912

Buick: Marlin Blue Metallic code F

Oldsmobile: Wedgewood Mist Metallic code F

American Pontiac: Yorktown Mist Metallic code F

Canadian GM: Silver Blue Metallic code FF

Best check that the VIN on the ownership and front door VIN tag match then based on the VIN order the GM Vintage Vehicle package.

RE: Paint code on 4 moredoor plate listed as

Well mystery solved. I hate to say it but everything I have been told by the seller he proven to be untrue with this car. Excellent runner and the motor blew, all original never painted, well I dig some digging today, more so scratching and peeling and that is the right plate I found maroon on doors and white on roof. With that said someone did a real painstaking job on this at which tells me it was professional I had to look really hard. Oh well I still love the car but am disappointed as well. I'm going for the ff paint I just hope that's what they put on as I'm using that chart for the colour but I don't know if the person that did the work did. Almost hard to believe someone went to so much trouble on a 4 door. The car would have had to have been completely stripped!

No doubt. The interior was totally swapped out also.confuse

You can get a colour scan done of your paint to match the colour. I wouldn't trust the FF match.

door tag and ownership match thanks goodness.

I picked a completely different code as none of the 64 colours matched so they definitely didnt go stock.  Its very close to existing colour but with more metallic, I think its going to be quite impressive.

Ill post pics once done.

Cheers

In your situation I would also just stay with the Silver Blue colour. It is one of the nicer 1964 colours plus your interior matches.

The car below originally was Silver Blue metallic. It was always clean & straight, but in March of 1977 I saw the start of some surface rust. The car disappeared for a month or 2 and when it reappeared it was repainted white. In the ad below from 1983, the car is listed as having $4000 spent on restoration. I suspect that is what the original owner put into having the car stripped and repainted properly, as Mrs. Farmer (the original owner) always babied the car. The ad is from the flipper who bought the car from Mrs. Farmer's estate (she passed in November 1982).

 Neat info,

I went with a Clear Water Blue Pearl Metallic code # PBG which is almost identical to what was on the car which I assume was close to the silver blue but not quite.  Its the best match to whats already there and it has a bit more metallic in it which should make the car look beautiful.  Im getting a clear coat as well and the sprayer said its going to look "deep and delicious".
