Out for my walk yesterday and this drove by me on main street Morris Manitoba. I can't say I know the car. Anyone in Manitoba recognize it? It came in to Morris from the east on #23, then turned south on #75 heading for the US border.
Maybe Ed Hudrek. the one that always had a "before" pic of the car on its side in the bush.

MY BEAUMONT HAS 4 STUDDED TIRES AND 2 BLOCKHEATERS......AND LOTS OF OIL UNDERNEATH. The other one has a longer roof.
Had them installed today at Hyundai dealer and one instantly had a bulge in it when inflated. Mounted the remaining 3 and the car was put outside. The left front went promptly flat... GRRR Had to order 4 new Toyo Snows...I should get a rebate.
While I was waiting for my car I surveyed the showroom for vehicles. Oh, a classic Pontiac convertible in basic black with a white convertible top and a Classic Firebird.
Two possessions of the dealer principle with do not touch signs. Presumable for sale.
1955 Pontiac Laurentian 265 CID 162 HP V8 $89,500.00
1967 Pontiac Firebird 326 250 HP V8 $79,500.00
Snow tires had to be ordered in so I got a shuttle ride home tonight and again tomorrow.
I have sent a note off to the kijiji person but we will see where that goes.

And..... contacted the seller and he offered me a refund.
Straight up no hassle.
Tonight I picked up the car with my new Toyo snow tires on and a lighter wallet.
The kijiji tires were placed in bags in the car and I drove 407 to Woodbridge.
Met the gentleman and proceeded to open each bag only to reveal torn beads on 3 of the four tires. I carefully scanned each tire at time of purchase and found one small nick which was acceptable. That tire had no further damage. The one tire that had the bulge had the bead torn down to the core of the bead and that is why it bulged.
Having had many years in the tire business I was at a loss for words.
I had expected a $100.00 refund but what came out of the tire bags was scrap. I shook the gentleman's hand explaining that I was prepared to accept my loss. A return trip on 407.
The new snows indicate 108 kph at a gps speed of 99 mph. Will add some extra kph to the speedometer.

Saw this 60-61, iirc, Chevrolet half ton at the corner of renfrew and penticton in east Van, visiting daughter for a week. It was being used as a truck, box was full of stuff.

2 more of the truck, it has wooden sides that the back fenders are fasten to, boards. It used to be one colour, a pale blue. A 53ish Chevy, a S10 (note no rust under that piece of rear missing fender trim) likely original paint truck? Other than front fender? And a Firebird, also likely original paint. All just sitting on the street in the same area as the truck. And an old house being restored it looks like.

Just saw a tan 63 Parisienne on east Hastings, same car as mine, had a v8 rumble, then a Rambler American, 2 door HT, nice rumble too. Missed pics, the 63 looked perfect too.

I know this is old post but its my Sunday browsing time.......Gus Brown was an top Pontiac Buick dealer so no surprises that he had these fine classic Pontiac. Cliff the Hyundai dealer has snow packages available tailored for our cars. So I got a great package for my G80 -1 so 18 inch factory black metallic wheels with 225 55 Continental S Viking Contact 7. -1 and narrower tire to gain sidewall and better snow traction. Order over phone, drop off car, drive me to work and pick me up when done, summer tires stored off site and wheels touched up for road rash. Mind you the package cost as much as a good used car but I love them!!
My $70.00 Toyo rebate Visa card came in the mail today.
As reported earlier that 3 of the four used tires had bead damage from installing the used tires.
The Kijji seller offered me a credit but as we took the tires out of the bags that the dealer had put them in we found much bead damage. Not in the condition of when i originally inspected them.
Embarrassed I just left the (damaged) tires there and offered my apologies and a handshake.
The Michelin that came off the car will have to be inspected in the spring for bead damage (during removal from the rims) as they went into storage.
As for the Toyo i have noticed a bit of wheel spin on the painted marks of the intersection. Cant comment on the snow performance yet. I really loved the Blizzaks that i ran for many years.

I know a post is useless without pictures, but I couldn't take a picture while driving.
Last week on the bare roads running north on Brimley to Progress Ave. in Scarborough I spotted a mint 1973 Buick Riviera (boat tail), black with white interior & white 1/2 vinyl top on the forward roof, perfect Buick chrome wheels with whitewalls.
O.K. I'll post an image. It belongs to Ray but it needed to be rotated to be appreciated. Nice!

As I pulled out of our development today and turned onto the highway, I looked over at the yard of a local trucking company. They don't haul vehicles but they rent some parking space to a company that does I guess (but not the car hauling guys I've told you about from town here though.)
Any Winnipeg guy recognize this car? The truck driver told me he picked it up south side of Winnipeg and it's going to Missouri. He says to me "it has 3 carburetors and a 389 or something?" I could see a factory wood wheel in it and the repro window sticker showed not much for options.
I would be kind of reluctant to haul that car out in the open in the winter over that distance. It's likely going to get itself a nice salt bath. Dumb.
