RE: SPOTTED

Nice! Look at that glass. What passes for rough down there can't compare to here.

I bet someone would want 9 grand for that up here...

A guy at cruise night had a 65 Catalina with eight bolt wheels. This guy walks over and says that you couldnt get eight bolt wheels on a Catalina, Bonneville only. He bet the guy $100, the guy accepted the bet. Walked behind the car and opened his trunk and pulled out a 1965 Pontiac dealer brochure. Right in the centre was a Catalina with eight bolt wheels, even the same colour as his car!

As I pulled out of our development today and turned onto the highway, I looked over at the yard of a local trucking company. They don't haul vehicles but they rent some parking space to a company that does I guess (but not the car hauling guys I've told you about from town here though.)

Any Winnipeg guy recognize this car? The truck driver told me he picked it up south side of Winnipeg and it's going to Missouri. He says to me "it has 3 carburetors and a 389 or something?" I could see a factory wood wheel in it and the repro window sticker showed not much for options.

Check the trans out, that's not a Muncie!

 Tremec......have one in our 66........biggrin

Outside in the laneway working on the Mercury.

Nice, sunny day and too much Pontiac stuff in the shop biggrin

Heard a cool rumble coming down the road.

Only got one shot.

This is what my Neighbour traded his Harley Davidson for,

Saw this at the shop in hebbville, neat old Buick, around a 1948/9? Would be a straight 8, 3 on the tree. IMG_6876.jpeg

Isnt that the 283 220HP  4 speed car that the owner bought when it was new or almost new?  usually out on sunday shows.  you, know the one-his valvecovers are on upside down.

Funny, your hood does not look like a 66 GP hood.     those butternut-goldwood-lemonwood cars are a dime a dozen!

Hmm, I can't recall that car for some reason. The guys in it had my hair colour (gray) so I assume they may not be young guys.

True, not a GP hood, might not be my car, might be a Beaumont hood!

No engine in it so I suspect it was a big block. No B body Pontiac makes it far in southern Manitoba with a big block intact...

Maybe for those guys you see who can't decide whether to use their right or left foot for the brake? One brake pedal for each foot?

Or maybe like a tractor, individual wheel brakes for making tight turns?

2 pedals to keep it straight when the front wheels are off the ground

This isn't exactly spotted but it's a picture of my car just a few blocks from here that I took almost exactly 40 years ago. You might be able to read the numbers under the front fender "Grande Parisienne"!

Sadly the car has vanished, even though it sold only about 40 minutes from here around 1992. All my efforts to find it have been in vain.

So this memory is the reason for trying the Magnum wheels on the yellow car?? I approve by the way. They are a very classy wheel.

Yes, I remembered this picture in my photo album and dug it out. I always thought the crispness of the spokes on the Magnums really worked with the crisp lines on the Grande Parisiennes.
