We were supposed to get something like 5cm of snow last night however it was +7 when I woke up so it looks like just a rain event. It seems the forecasters are getting worse at predicting the weather these days. Both snow events predicted in the last week or so have turned out to be nothing.

I find the weather forecasters seem to erring on the side of safety, perhaps a little too much, lately. It seems they'd rather predict snow that doesn't happen than predict rain that turns into a snowstorm. It's good in that people will be more prepared for snow, and adjust their schedules/driving in expectation of it, but bad in that people will stop believing them. Just my observations...

Had about 30 cm of snow in Halifax last week, Friday morning the temp was down to -14°C, and up to +9°C yesterday with rain that pretty much took the snow away.  Today a mix of rain and freezing rain here with lots of freezing rain further northward where it's colder.  What a roller coaster...

MC, it hit -14 Wednesday morning, we got about 14 inches of snow, then +14 here yesterday, it was + 8 this morning when I woke up, all rain here and lots of it. Dropped to +1.5 now, may go to +6 later today, then -4 tonight. Wacko weather.

Carl, youve just said it too many times how you enjoy the cold more than the heat. You now get rewarded. The lake ice at the cabin wont be melted until mid August.

You betcha but I'd love to see 20.....

30? Nope, then I'd rather have -30.

No Carl, 30 degrees out west here with no humidity isn't a problem at all.  I grew up with the minus 30s and 40s and there wasn't much productive I could do unless being inside.

Darn cold too.

I just want the Snowbirds, they say they are flying over at 500 feet whenever they get here.

PS: Just in holding 8 Wing for 24 hours on TO Flypast too much hail and snow.
