On my 1962 Pontiac Strato Chief there are two well worn collars or inverted cup pieces below where the windshield wiper is attached to the wiper motor shaft.  When I remove the wipers I can not see how these are removed.  Maybe from under the cowl?  Any ideas here?

under the cowl  will be the motor and arms and the drivers for the wipers
