Clifford Industries makes manifolds for multi carbs. I think some of the Rochester 2 bbl's will work on a stock intake. Anybody ever tried that?

the three carb is a bit crazy for now, but maybe someday. a two barrel sounds more likely and would make for better driveability....
ill look around for a different intakes, carbs, etc, Barrie auto fleamarket is soon approaching!

My uncle fabbed up a 4 bbl intake for a inline 6 years ago to put a Rochester 4 bbl on a 64 Chev. Cant remember for sure, but I think he used the runners off a Dodge Slant Six and made up a connector to a Pontiac base. It worked good.

Just find an original BC rochester  one barrel carburator and get it rebuilt for todays ethanol fuel with the updated accelator pump. With a 261 it will run just fine and cruise 65 -75 mph all day long. Unless you are going to an higher compression cylinder head with dual exhaust just leave the intake system stock.

agreed so far.... got it all rebuilt yesterday in the garage, and it fired briefly... turned out i needed a new fuel pump, picked up a 1-4 psi solenoid style pump and it runs not bad!
I had to fab a small bracket for one of the choke levers, and it's missing the welch plug on the choke actuator assembly... so that has a rubber plug in for now.
Alllll the small things still to do.... but it runs drives and stops.

It's all up and running now but...i'm missing the proper arm attached to the choke lever, had to weld up a quick gadget to get it moving but where the heck could I find that lever etc? probably off old carb??? or new>?

also its missing the welch plug shown in the picture also...

Wes, for the carb parts i would try Don Oake of Carb Rebuilders. Don is in Oshawa, Ontario and has over 25 years experience with these old GM carbs. He may have some extra parts for your carb, here is his number. 1- 905- 438-0162. Good luck. George

The latest on this, the Rochester was starting to hesitate off idle, I took it apart again, everything was clean etc. Has enough of that, put the cater 4373s on there and what a difference. No misses, no hesitate.. The Carter is from a 194 engine. Does anyone know where to look for a large main jet or metering rod,?
