1963 Pontiac Parisienne with factory 409

It's been a while since I was last on this site and here are photos of this 1963 Parisienne with the factory 409. The restoration is just about complete and it should be on the road in the next couple of weeks.

The body restoration is complete, now  in the same colour as it came out of the factory, the original engine was rebuilt as well and installed in the car, all that is left to do is install a few trim parts on the interior and fix an issue with the shifter, according to the restorer.

Here are some photos;

The original engine came with the car but not in the car when the owner purchased it. It had another 409 in it when purchased but the original engine was rebuilt and put back in the car after several years out of it. Right now it is rebuilt as it came from the dealership. Do any of you know where to get the information about when it was built, how many were built with this type of engine in 1963 etc. Is there a place that GM keeps these records?
The owner has the original bill of sale and a lot of documentation about the car but he would like to know if more information is available. According to the numbers on the engine it was built on dec. 28, 1962., 340 HP , 1-4 barrel carb with manual transmission.

You can go here to order that info from GM Vintage-

http://www.vintagevehicleservices.com/options.html WELL worth the investment for an unusual car like you have.

Willy, I can find that out for you, it will take me a few days as the car is near Quebec City and I am in Winnipeg. It's not my car, I found it for a good friend of mine and we both remember the car when we were kids growing up.
I ordered a few parts for the car when it was being restored and for some reason I seem to recall that the tranny is a Borg-Warner but will confirm it for you.

Do you happen to know if it's for sale? I know someone who would be interested and he has the resources to buy it. He has a few 409 cars, as well as a few other rare GM musclecars.

I know it is definitely not for sale. It took nearly four years to locate this particular car and it is now back in the same small city where it was purchased.

I believe these are the adapter fittings if you decided to go that route.

Whoa! That rare car is worthy of the restoration it received. Absolutely gorgeous! I would expect a Borg-Warner T-10 in a 63.

Some late 63s were made with Muncies but that may have only been for U.S. Chevrolets. 1964 was the first official model year for the Muncie 4-speed.

Gotta love the low-key badging, just the same innocent V8 badge as a common 283.

Confirmed that the transmission is Borg-Warner T10. Obtained a lot of parts to rebuild it from a shop in British Columbia, he was able to get many relatively rare parts according to the restorer. The car is likely an early 1963 as the engine was built on Dec. 28, 1962.

Beautiful car. As an original 64cs 409 owner only a V8 badge was put on the lower fender area. ( I have pictures if you would like to see). Didn't matter what V8 was under the hood, my 300hp 327 just says V8. So someone has added the Chevy 409 badge. The Muncie came around late 1963 for the Canadian Pontiac and for sure in 1964, even the 327 300 engine got them in 1964.
