Last week (shortly before the snow came to stay), we had the opportunity to reunite a vintage car and sign for a quick photo shoot!
This 1966 Pontiac Grande Parisienne two-door hardtop was purchased brand new from South Park Motors by Dennis Huculak of Edmonton. He has owned it for nearly 50 years now, and the vehicle has had a complete power-train rebuild and extensive body restoration performed between 1988 and 1990. There were 143,000 miles traveled in it at that time, and Dennis has selectively added only 3,000 more since then. We chose to photograph this pristine Pontiac right beside the facility it was sold from, at the base of the iconic South Park sign in Old Strathcona.
We love seeing past customers and their vehicles, and appreciate Dennis taking his time to visit us at Don Wheaton on Whyte Avenue. If you have a vintage car that youd like us to feature, pleasecontact us and let us know!
I had the chance to get to know the owner a bit while we were hanging out at the show n shine that was put on by the AAIPC. He admired my dolled up but slightly soiled yellow floozy of a car while I really drooled over his virginal beauty of a car. I told him he'd better keep an eye on it or that perfect steering wheel would be gone! He told me he bought it fairly late in the model year and just went to the lot where they had a couple of Parisiennes and this car.
Made a good choice I think. its a 283 PG car with pretty much the standard options of the time.
If I remember right he said he bought it when he was 22.
I told him about the forum as he is looking for a part or two (like the washer fluid container) but he seemed to be kind of computer shy.

Last I checked, that washer fluid container is still available new. If not, I have a new one here and could help him out. I was planning to use it but when I see his car, if he needs one it's a far more deserving car.
If anyone knows how we can reach him, please speak up.

He seemed amazed that i had a new one but I told him they were easy to get and gave him a couple of leads as well. I think I have his number somewhere so I'll have to follow up.
It is kind of weird alright. There were two of us at the Whyte avenue show n shine out of about 90 cars or so. Still quite outnumbered by the GTO's and Trans am though.
Since I've been on this forum I've noticed maybe 50 of them mentioned or shown in one forum or another. Maybe you just tend to notice them more than some others.
