Hi everybody I'm new to Canadian Poncho. I am excited to be a part of a Canadian Automobile Legend. I'm looking forward to participating in your discussions and info regarding these iconic vehicles.
To get started here I will tell you I am the proud owner of a near mint 70 Strato Chief 2 door hardtop. I say "near" because I am in search of a right door. The right side door appears to have taken a nasty hit at some point in time and I'm assuming it was damaged beyond repair. ( Everything on this car is original except for the right door). The door currently on the car appears to have come from a wrecked car as it is not in nearly as good condition as the left door. It is my intention to disassemble the car, (already underway) and have the cars paint removed via glass blasting as well as having the underside of the car and frame blasted, epoxy primed and painted. My first choice would be to try to find a door that is in good to excellent condition to replace the current door.If any body has a right door or know where I might be able to get one I would be very interested in hearing from you.
Welcome aboard from Wasaga Beach.
Lots of good knowledgeable folks here. Lots of help also.
Let me be the first to inform you that " we love pictures " of members cars.
I grabbed a couple doors off a Catalina 2 dr hdtp about a dozen years ago. The drivers door was caved in a bit, but the passenger door was good. As you likely know doors weigh likely 80 lbs each, so shipping is a bit interesting. I'm in Calgary, and the doors are in my garage. PM me if you're interested.

Terry, a hardy welcome aboard from Milton, Ontario. You have to post photos of your 70 C.P. for the C.P. brotherhood as soon as you can. Enjoy the ride here and cheers. George

Welcome to the site and the community. Your car would have been fairly low production, but add 45 years worth of attrition and you will end up with a very rare car.
Don't damage those interior door panels. They are shared with the Chevy Biscayne except they are unique in that they are designed to fit a hardtop body style (frameless door glass). The Strato Chief even outlasted the Biscayne 2-door by a year.
I'd be curious as to what the trim tag says on the firewall. We could try to decode it if you took a picture or simply passed along the details.

Sorry folks, not able to post pics at the moment. The car is in pieces on the garage floor! I will have something posted as soon as I get it back from glass blasting. It will be in primer but at least it's something!!
