I have been using an app on my andriod called Gas Buddy

It gives you all of the local gas prices and you can sort it by price or distance.

You can also be selective about the brands that you want to show for the pricing

Handy little tool

I found it first on my computer at the Gas Buddy website.

Go to  http://www.torontogasprices.com

It is real handy because it allows you to track your gas mileage for a few different vehicles.

I get to see the average fuel mileage and costs

I spent $2995.00 for fuel for the car that I use for work this year.

Today I pulled into a station and the sign out front said 97.9 and at the pumps it was 96.9. I have seen this a few times.

I just report the actual price so that anyone in the area gets an instant update.

Sometimes a few cents will save you a few bucks.

Finally down to 99.9p per litre in London, England but only at the big supermarket sites. That's about CAN$2.07 at today's exchange rate. The avgas I use at work is still CAN$3.54.......

Yeah, it looks like we're still twenty cents more than you at the north end of the island, Rick.

I saw an article on the CBC awhile ago about oil prices versus gasoline prices. Here's a link:

http://www.cbc.ca/news/thenational/puzzling-gas-prices-1.3367050

The BMO study they reference downplays the difference - attributing much of it to the sinking loonie (crude oil is sold in US dollars per barrel).

I was working on a very similar graph myself (see below) and incorporated the exchange rate into price of oil.  If you look at the spread between the two lines, it is an indication of the mark-up refiners are charging.  From 2011 to present, there is a lot of volatility.  But if you look at 2015, I think it is pretty clear that the mark-up for refiners is way above historic values.

Crude Oil Versus Gas Price.JPG

I was recently in Houston.  Gas prices were as low as USD 1.65/US gallon.  Adjusting for exchange rates and converting to metric, this translates to less than CAD $0.60/litre...

Even with the taxes on gas in BC, I think we're getting gouged.  Thousands of people are unemployed due to low oil prices.  Governments are losing money hand over fist due to the drop in oil prices.  (By 'governments', I mean Alberta, Saskatchewan and NL, but also the Government of Canada - as I suspect Justin Trudeau is discovering how much money (directly and indirectly) the oil industry put into the collection plate).

So with all the downside, we should at least be seeing some relief on the price of fuel.  A big factor when I hear continually how we should expect our food prices to escalate.  Lower oil prices (and natural gas), farming costs should be down.  Fertilizers are derived from natural gas.  Tractors should be cheaper to operate.  Transportation costs should be substantially less, but many companies are still tacking on Fuel Surcharge Fees.

The low fuel prices and weak Canadian dollar should also be stimulating the manufacturing sector much more than it is.

I think the government needs to crack down on the gouging (by refiners, transportation companies, food producers etc) and get things back in line.  I don't begrudge companies making a profit.  We'd be in sad shape if they didn't. But all this looks like some people are making absurd profits at our expense.

If this is how the Liberals plan on addressing Climate Change, I think they need to re-think their plan.  Wake up Justin.

94.6 per litre in the Owen Sound area today. Can the consumer get gouged/ripped off any worse than this? Oh I forgot about Ontario Hydro (my bad)!

Right around .92 most places in Winnipeg and surrounding areas, except I haven't seen Costco's price there this week.
