Looking for an intermediate Pontiac driver for my wife and me

Hi Folks  I am new to the forum but have been a Pontiac owner in the past as has my wife's family. We are looking for a good condition Pontiac intermediate coupe/convertible for a summer driver.  We live in Regina so our cruising season is short and we don't want to spend our time working on a project car.  GTOs, Firebirds, Beaumonts, Acadians all fill the bill so to speak.  We would prefer #'s matching....original motors/transmissions etc. but it isn't a deal breaker.  My wife is hoping we buy a car with an automatic but 4 speeds are OK too.

My home e-mail is shurlburt@myaccess.ca and cell is 306-596-1295

This is a good time to buy. I don't have anything that meet your specs myself although I do have a 1978 Pacer I'd be happy to sell ya!

A loaded question that deserves a somewhat evasive answer........ $15,000 to $30,000. More if it is a rare and collectible example but we don't want a trailer queen.  If you know of Judge or 73-74 SD-455 T/A I can go and talk to our banker.....no

Hi Steve and welcome from Regina.

Locally I find the options on what is for sale heavy on price and low on quality. Then again I'm cheap. All my cars are serious projects and that seems to be the way I like them. Ultimately you may need to travel to get what you are looking for. If you are wanting a real Judge or a real 73-74 SD I think it may a real stretch to get a decent runner for $30g's, not saying you can't but like you said you can go to the banker. I've been watching for decent driver cars with the employment down turn and finally just noticing some better deals popping up in Alberta but they move reasonably quick.

I've been never afraid to travel to get what I want at reasonable deal. My 69 Camaro came from Hamilton for $3500 while locally a car requiring all the same panel replacement was $15,000. Our 67 Mustang came from Detroit, the bones for my custom built Harley came from Kentucky and our 21' Donzi came from Florida. Went to get them all. Car trailer full tank of diesel and road trip.

Hi back Eric, I know that we are not going to find a SD-455 for anything other than big money but if it is a dream fulfilled then I would give up quite a few vacations and bite the bullet.  The problem with finding a Poncho/Goat of the era that we like is that they are relatively rare in decent condition.  I am not afraid to look outside of Sask which is why I posted here; someone in Ontario may have the perfect car for us and not want to go the Kijiji/Autotrader route to sell.

We are willing to spend a fair bit more than $30,000 if the car doesn't require a bunch of freshening up and has the right options etc.  There is no space in our garage for a project and the only large heated shop I have access to is in near Saskatoon (2 1/2 hours away).
