Selling off my auto literature and die cast stuff. Updated first post

My wife and I have reached a point where we want to simplify our lives as much as we can, so that means everything has to go. We've had a few tough years, and my business is at a standstill. I haven't had a month this bad since early 1983 when interest rates had hammered Canadians for a while.

Ideally, I'd like to sell my stuff in lots. Literature as one lot, diecast as another, my car and all the stuff that goes with it, and my sign making plotter and vinyl.

This would suit local buyers, as this stuff is pretty heavy. If you like to sell stuff at swap meets, this would be a good stock hit for you.

So the diecast stuff I would ask $700.00 as a lot, and I'll add the photos.

The literature would go as a lot, also for $700.00.

The car and all it's spare parts, I think $3500.00 is fair. It needs some TLC

My plotter, vinyl, software, and assorted graphics, striping tape, I'm asking $900.00

My paint pinstriping kit, I'm asking $350.00

If there's no interest in the whole lot, I will sell off pieces.

Be kind in your offers, and I'll get mail quotes for you. 4 diecast 1/18 in a box would be approx. $25 - $30 to ship 5 day mail.

Our plan is to relocate back to BC, probably Victoria, to an apartment. My wifes hobbies are up for sale too.

2 Horses and her distressed furniture.

I will be adding photos to give an idea of what I've got, but don't have time to catalogue the literature.

RE: Selling off my auto literature and die cast stuff.

Hi John, Do you have issues 1&2 of Canadian Classics magazine? How about '64 fullsize Canadian Pontiac stuff? Collectible Automobile magazine issues after Oct/Nov 2001? Thanks, Darryl.

Sorry, having computer issues. It freezes up halfway through a post, and I have to reboot. Sometimes it goes into a loop.........

If anyone has a decent laptop they don't use anymore, and wants to trade for some items, let's make a deal. No Mac stuff though!

Some of these are the Matchbox collectibles that you had to subscribe to about 20 years ago. They were about $35.00 apiece then. So the 442, GTO, Boss 429, and the Fairlane GT are thos, and 1/43 scale. There are also a Camaro, Roadrunner, and another one I can't remember. These are all boxed as you can see from the one photo.

Also included with the diecast are 2 countertop watch displays. One is motorized with a black light. These will display up to 1/43 scale cars. The matchbox cars have been out of the box on display in the store we ran in Summerland a couple of years ago, as have some of the others.

It's hard to tell by your photo what kind of shape the truck is in. Is there a lot of play wear?

I'll take another photo of it out of the box. I can't remember if I ever took it out of the box before. I've had it about 30 years. It has jewelled headlights.

So, editing a post doesn't bump the topic up.

Nope.

The carrier looks pretty good.

I remember that car carrier. Back in the late 1960s a friend had one just like it. I haven't seen it in over 45 years.  As I recall, the truck was a Scammell, a British make.
