1964 Commander, cool! There is one that runs a Studebaker R-3 engine at the Pure Stock events and it does amazingly well. However where are you going to find an R-3 engine?

Some specs on the Studebaker R- engines here: http://www.theavanti.net/r1.html

Hey, I have a hot rodded inline Chevy six sitting on an engine stand. Hmmm.... Naw, it needs a V8 set back into the firewall, Hillborn injection and 8 velocity stacks

Nope, not even remotely interested but I thought it is pretty cool anyway.

I'm a big Studebaker fan. I read Turning Wheels (a world-wide Studebaker club publication) every month at our library.

I really like Hudsons & Oldmobiles also.

That roller and $20,000 CDN will get you a nice gasser, trust me I know.

I grew up in Cranbrook BC. Local 3/8 mile oval track used to be popular for guys from the USA. I remember seeing a Studebaker similar to this (minus the straight axle) come up from Spokane. It was quick. First car I ever saw running on alcohol. I remember the 4 bbl carb looked like it was almost the same diameter as the wheels on the car.

I must admit, this is not what I imagined when I read the title for the post - Stude gasser.

Turning wheels is one of the best club publications I've ever seen. I was a subscriber when I had my Studebaker and also had boxes of back issues that sadly I sent with the car to the new owner.

No offence to anyone but this does nothing for me. It would have to be a 1939 to 1941 Stude coupe as a gasser to do anything for me.
