1964 Pontiac Strato Chief. !!!!!!!29,000!!!!!original miles. Sitting on Air max air suspension. 8 valves two compressors and air tank in trunk.. new belts and hoses new brake master cylinder. New reman carb. Bluetooth deck. New plugs and wires and valve cover gasket. Brake fluid changed out new coolant and fresh oil and filter. Front shock relocation.new front brake shoes and wheel cylinders re sealed. No engine or tranny leaks !! Slight blow by from years of sitting. All glass excellent. 230 straight six. Three on the tree. Early 80's Camaro rims. Runs and drives awesome. Body straight as can be for 52 year old car. Every thing works like new. Fun car lots of thumbs up's 6 airbag switches mounted nicely on dash. Two air gauges under dash. New Thrush Muffler and short straight pipe. Nice black and patina. Mexican blanket seat covers. Lol!!! I'd call that a WASTE of money spent....ruining a semi- cool old laurentian......making it unsalable....and unaffordable....
I disagree because:
(a) To most people (not me), a 4-door Strato Chief is worthless. In most hands this Strato Chief would have ended up as a parts car at best.
(b) Among the hot rod/biker crowd, airbagging it would actually make it cool, whereas before they would think a 4-door Strato Chief is a grandfather car (not me).
(c) At $4500, it's not unaffordable to most people who want an old car. Heck, you could buy it for that, sell the airbag stuff to lowrider people and return it to stock (not that anybody would).
Not my cup of tea, but I try to have an open mind.
