Way to go Mark!

Gotta love that nasty idle. Gonna draw a few looks when you pull up to a stop light biggrin

Now take those mufflers off and run that bad boy up to 6000 rpm so we can hear it scream!

Dave

P.S. Wish I would have gone with ceramic coated headers like yours ...

Man that sounds nice! Congratulations! Did you build that test stand? I'd like to see more of it as well!

Thanks All,

Yes it's a roller motor Clint in case you were wondering why the slow idle at startup and not 2500. Straub 229/241 with Morel street series rollers.

I simply added pieces on to the engine stand Todd to make the test stand. The flexplate fit in without mods, so I figured with some temporarily welded in braces, I could have a working stand. I'll post a couple of pictures and maybe a simple wiring diagram. I managed to get the Sun Tach working. Green as expected was signal, grey was power, black ground and black/white was lighting.

I'll try and get it in the car before the season ends.

Cheers.

Home made test stand Todd. Used my Princess Auto 4 point engine stand after realizing the flexplate would easily fit behind the stand arms.

Simply added 3, 2x4 steel tubing sections to the base, and added 2 uprights drilled and fitted for the rad. Welded them to the base when the rad was sitting proper with hoses on.

Added 2 struts, each with a small piece of horizontal round tubing welded on to meet the motor mount throughbolt. Fit them in and welded as to take the weight off the rear of the engine stand.

Added a 2' piece of angle (with the plywood gauge panel) to the rear lower drivers side arm bolt. Swings up for ease of wiring work.

Two pieces of wood to hold the fuel and battery.

Welded the struts to the base robustly, and the base sections to the stand in such a way I can easily remove them.

Dead stable when running.

Yeah, very clever idea to use the engine stand.
The engine sounds great too!
