My 1964 Beaumont SD came with a nice set of what appear to be just like 1964 Pontiac GTO/Tempest wire wheel covers:
The centers are all pretty nice, say "Pontiac" but are very faded - they look almost like silver on tan.
1. Are these wheel covers correct as options for 1964 Beaumont, or did some prior owner find a set of these and liked them and put them on? (My car, according to VVS data, did not have any optional wheel covers from the factory.)
2. Are these correct for those wire wheel centers?
3. Do you think I should replace my centers with new decals, or leave the old ones? New would "pop" more and help draw attention to the fact that this fine automobile was built for Pontiac (not a Chevelle! ), but old would be more, I dunno, authentic? A dilemma ...
Those look an awful lot like my 68 spoke hubcaps that are original on my 68 2+2. I've seen them on 68 Beaumonts as well. Different center though, not a spinner.

I know the ones you are talking about Scott.
Round center caps with a plain black, ribbed center (no Pontiac symbol). I had a set on my '68 442 (the first owner asked for a switch-a-roo at the dealership).

In the 1964 Acadian Beaumont broucher that I have they list "Optional Equipment" (pg 11) with "Simulated Wire Wheel Covers" but show no picture of them.

George, I had forgotten about Acadian being a separate make, not a Pontiac, back then - with no "Pontiac" branding anywhere. Brian, I didn't think to look at my brochure like yours until you mentioned it, and of course it does show wire wheel covers as an option - one place on the internet implies that they were dealer-installed, not a factory-installed option. Given that there is no photo, maybe the correct centers would be similar to the centers of the other 1964 Beaumont wheel covers (instead of the Pontiac name)? Since nobody else has chimed in, and since there is no other place in the universe with more knowledgeable people than here ... I guess we will never know.
So, since Acadians were sold by Canadian Pontiac dealers in 1964, I am going to assume that either (1) these were put on by the Canadian Pontiac dealer, hence the Pontiac centers, or (2) somebody in the past put them on for whatever reason - in either case (3) I am going to leave them on, since I like them, but will not put on new bright red center decals, and if some car-show lawyer in Florida notices, I will stand firm in my statement "yes they were factory options in 1964, installed at Pontiac dealership because that is where Acadians were sold"

Just curious...what diameter size is the cap insert for those wire wheel covers?
SHUSH! I might need to buy one or two from Rog if I ever lose one!
There are other sets out there on evilbay, much less $$$ but not as nice, actually I think my set is about as nice as the ones on your link (except for the replacement center decals).
Center cap decal insert is almost exactly 2.0" diameter (maybe a wee bit more, but less than 1/16" more) ... why? Can you make some Acadian inserts like these
