Any Monte SS experts?

I've been tracking the G bodys lately and the Monte Carlos lead the group followed by the Cutlass. The Regals ( with the exception of the Grand Nationals ) and Grand Prixs seem to be the tag alongs.

There's a 442 for sale in Nova Scotia. About the same price as those Monte SS's though and not blue. Does look sharp in black though

Not sure where you are located but the local Mitsubuishi dealer in Winnipeg has this in the showroom - it has the burgundy interior

This car is nice. 83 and 84's came in white and this blue only. I like this blue a lot. The car has upgraded wheels to the 1986 style, 83-85 used a steel styled wheel from Chevy Trucks. This aluminum wheel on the car here was borrowed from 1981 Camaro Z/28 and was a good upgrade in 86, used until end of production in 1988.

No idea what happened with this thread but I did come across one for sale tonight. My kind of listing been for sale for over a month, a good time to pounce. It's a rarely seen silver as well, I had forgotten that they were offered in silver.

I've looked a few over the last 6 weeks and have been disappointed each time. Everything works, get there and " Oh I thought it was" or mint body and get there and "Oh it's only little rust". Not expecting a perfert show car as I just want a nice driver, but not paying show car money for driver quality needing work.

Have you noticed any correlation between the whistling in the front and the squealing in the back?

My buddy here in NC has two - one he's just transplanted a built LS into, and the other with the stock L79 305. Both really nice cars. I think he could be persuaded to part with one; probably the stocker. Can I put you in touch?

My friend Lars bought a new Grand National, had the dealer paint it burgundy and remove all the gn badging. He moved here from Sweden in the early 80s. It whistled pretty good.

I know what you mean but let's make that the stock L69 305, by the way a true HO engine that shares nothing with the regular production car LG4 305 other than displacement.

Looking at the grille I'm saying it's an 86?

You're gonna have fun! I'm assuming you've read up on some of the little quirks. I see one has been fixed already, it has a vacuum booster for the brakes!

Now I'm thinking that mayb I read somewhere that the 86 could have been ordered without a posi. Does this one have a posi? Nice diff regardless,  it would be an 8.5" with 3.42 gears. Great combination with the overdrive.

Is the powertrain still pretty much stock?

You have a heater core replacement in your future for this car?
