57 2 door HT

Nice looking car, but I'm not sure if it runs or else why wouldn't you take some outdoor pics? For $40,000, maybe wash it too?

I don't see any reason why it wouldn't be a runner...pretty nice, and you sure don't see many 2 door hard tops!

I looked through the pics several times......and personally don't care for ANY of the modifications done to this car.

If it were a 567 chevvy...maybe some rich hillbilly in America (with BAD taste) might buy it...but rich Americans DON't usually buy Canadian Pontiacs..

I can appreciate the quality of the work done to it....and recognize the cost of the modifications....but NOT money well spent on a 57 Laurentian...

Not real familiar with 567 Canadian 2dr ht values....but guessing maybe 12-15k tops...for a decent restoration or original?

The gentleman that owns this car has owned it for TOO long...and fell into the trap...of overspending....which IS easy to do....if you have $$$

He would have been better off buying another car...and having TWO cool ones for his $$$.

Make MY 57 Laurentian with a warmed over 396....M21....with a straight axle....and a driveshaft for a front bumper...with a flip front end and faded paint.

How about a black tuck 'n roll interior....with at least two pine tree air fresheners ...hanging on the fresh air vents...and one of those sparkly steering wheels with the chrome spokes...just say NO...to steering wheels with lumber on them...biggrin

I like tasteful mods.....and there wasn't MUCH of that going on there....the wheels, perhaps?

It WAS missing fender skirts...and a flame job....but then I'd have to get out the fire extinguisher...between my legs.....and put out the fire...smile

Tell us what a sookie doll is.....never heard of that before....eastern thing?

Ok...around here we called those "crybaby" dolls.......they seem to gone out of vogue...on the west coast,anyways....

Spent 4 hours at the Langley show yesterday...over 400 cars....and didn't see one....

They always seemed to "fall over"......when I walked past one.....Guess I should be more careful where I put my feet....when I'm looking at old cars....biggrin

What was just as bad....20 years ago....was the "stuffed animal" syndrome....thankfully that one has evaporated...for the most part...

Creepy dolls like Chuckie the new trend ?  Spotted driving a Bueaumont at the Bowness show last month.

Ad is no longer there ... car sold?

Only thing that really stood out to me is that nice rear bumper with unobtanium tips, with well executed exhaust outlets.

At $40K he'll be holding onto that one for awhile, I think.

I don't get all the fluff about the mods done to this car.  They are not to my taste, but this hobby is about building a car to one's tastes, isn't it?  If it makes you happy, then it's your car and your money - end of story.  Just don't expect to get it all back out of it when it comes time to sell.

It's not a business, it's a hobby, so 'losing' money should be considered normal.

What you say IS true...for the most part.....

Perhaps MY philosophy is  a bit different.....I have multiple cars......a hoarder,perhaps.....and try hard NOT to get into ANY car deeper than what I can get out of it for....if I chose to sell it...

I'm NOT a flipper...but if a better one comes along....I might buy it...as an upgrade...and sell the lesser car...

ALSO.....Forums ARE for expressing ones opinion.....and there is nothing more entertaining than tossing an ebay...or Kijij car into the Shark Tank.....and reading all the comments...JMO

I agree, and my opinion was honestly expressed in my post above.  We all have different opinions and philosophies, including the owner of said Pontiac.  It's what makes the world interesting.  It's not just a west coast thing... wink
