I'm thinking blue tape. Looks like a Pontiac engine to me.

From Pontiac Parisienne wikipedia:

"For 1971, GM's new "B" and "C" bodies were the largest ever produced. During this generation, the Chevrolet engines were replaced for the first time with the same powerplants as U.S. market Pontiacs."

So, yah, John, good eye, not orange, eh.

Dave

If you use blue tape, then you'll have to paint the block to match! confuse

The 1971 full size Pontiac B bodies are my favorite big cars, I thought the price would have deflated from that hole ???

I imagine the price will go down as I don't imagine people are jumping to buy it with a destroyed engine.

Unfortunately a 1971 Canadian Pontiac is a but of a bust as far as I'm concerned. With all Pontiac power you are really screwed here. You can't just skip over the salvage yard and pick up a good running 454 or sbc 350 and drop it in easily. The car is priced easily twice of what it should be with that ruined engine.
