'64 differential swap question

Will a differential out of a '66 Beaumont fit into a '64 Custom Sport?

Ive had a 66 chevelle diff in my 64 parisienne, i used the brackets off the 64 and welded them to the housing of the 66 diff. So it can be done with a little work. It also allows for a one piece driveshaft due to the higher pinion.

Yes, besides the casting numbers. Can anyone else confirm this?

Have a 66 El Camino diff under my 64 Beaumont but this doesn't answer the original question.
