Going by memory but 736 would be a Custom, 67 a convert, 9 is the year, 1 is the plant (not sure which plant 1 is, I thought Oshawa was O) and 100980 is the production number, with 100,000 being the starting point.
And if any of this is wrong, someone here will correct me!
And yes, I forgot to mention the 736 is V8 as Brian said, 735 would be a 6 cylinder.
