My daughter is living in Vancouver while going to UBC. They rarely get snow and she doesn't even use formal heating in her apartment, just a gas fireplace.

Finally starting to warm up!!!!! Couple of the coldest months on record for average temp! Don't know how much wood you guys burn back east , but I went through 6 1/2 cords so far!! Wood storage is 7x10x14 and almost all gone!!! 2nd pile was supposed to be for next year...I'm getting tired thinking about fire wood!!!
I'm not officially allowed to burn wood ( or real coal ) in my open fire but, strangely, a guy further up my road has a wood burning unit that is apparently legal.
At least you have some helpers, try doing that all by yourself and then see who is tired, LOL.
Next years is already split, just have to move it.
