66 GM Canada Cars built Brochure, anyone have or have seen this one?

Picked up this Canadian sales brochure, had never seen one. Anyone else seen or have? Apparently if you went on a tour of the GM Oshawa plants they would have drinks and snacks at the end of tour and handed these brochures out. Some of the cars manufactured at the plants. Just had to get it.smilebiggrin

Have seen the larger (magazine size) ones like Georges but never this one. About 4"x 8" fold out. Maybe George has seen one?

Never seen it before. I've been collecting since the late 60s.

I'd like to take a closer look at the yellow Chevelle convertible as it looks like a 138-series SS396, a model Oshawa didn't build for 66. You could get a 396 in a 136-series Malibu SS.  An SS396 at that time would have been a U.S import.

Pic for ya Cam. This is only the second one I know of and only one I've ever seen. Not an avid collector, bought some, sold some, kept some. The fellow I purchased it from has a friend that took the tour of the plant in 1962 when he was 12, picked up the brochure and still has it today!

Neat! Yup, that's the Canadian Malibu SS with the 396 in it, flat hood and all. What a sleeper... Back in the day it would have been fun to pull those flags off and do some racing.

That is a real historical gem,yes auto related but history of Canada. I tell my kids how much hope and promise I experienced as a boy right around Centennial year and pride in our country. It all changed after 68......

Thanks for posting the Chevelle pic. It appears as though numerous car pics are taken out from the various respective brochures, minus the background. That yellow convertible is the same car shown in the Canadian brochure. The Oldsmobile pictures are the same ones shown in the back of the Oldsmobile brochure. Still some of the pics are ones I haven't seen before.

Years ago I picked up a neat Canadian 1967 Chevrolet truck brochure. It featured pics of production trucks taken around the various Expo 67 pavilions while still under construction. I do remember (barely) attending Expo 67; we actually set up our tent trailer in a cousin's driveway in Montreal. I remember the hovercraft, the Geodesic dome, traditional Chinese women with umbrellas and full regalia. I think there was also a special Expo edition Mustang 2+2 on display. Ha, while there I even remember drinking Grand Prix cola out of a can before they came with church keys.

Things changed in 1968. Blaine, a Hamilton Spectator cartoonist from Glace Bay started drawing this guy: 18693c3d4238bf6ddb49f15b7dee_Content.jpg

Out of respect for the rules of this site, I will not go down that slippery slope. Nor will I mention what De Gaulle said during his 1967 Quebec visit.
