If it's a Catalina the front disc brakes are different than a Parisienne. They'll have a 5 on 5" bolt pattern, and nothing interchanges with a Parisienne (which is the same as a Chevy Impala).
After reading the post, I got a hold of Donny on Friday night. He was describing the car, and I thought it sure sounded like a Parisienne, or possibly a 2+2. Some of the things he mentioned (like the plastic chrome behind the armrests weren't on a Catalina).
Once hearing the color, I thought there was an outside possibility it was a gold 2+2 I'd seen in Edmonton in 2010, and again in 2013 when I was on the hunt for a frame for my Parisienne. It should come as a surprise to no one, that I took a spin up there today to check it out. Sure enough, it's the car I'd seen previously, now missing some parts. I talked to the seller about 6 months ago, he said he'd sold it a year or so before, but didn't remember how much he got for it. When I saw it previously, it had the 300 hp 350, but the radiator was in the back seat, and I can't remember if the water pump was on the engine or not. It had a tilt wheel (with the shift indicator block off plate) and a speed minder speedo. Bucket seats and console were also present. However, the frame was completely rotted away, much worse than what was under my Parisienne. I speculate whoever bought it harvested the engine, buckets, console, tilt & speedo.
Here's what it looks like after I grabbed a few things including the rotors:
It was a less than ideal day, and a big puddle under the passenger front so I didn't get the spindles, backing plates, caliper mounts, etc. If someone feels ambitious and wants to grab them for me I'd really appreciate it. We can work something out.
holy smokes clint u wernt kidding about the water under the car and i told u it was high and dry well on thurs when i was gettin pieces it was 25 c and dry as a bone what a difference a day makes good work swimming around getting the roters i wish i would go get all the glass and window regulaters one of my rear side glass rollers broke off a few yrs back and i was lucky to find a window !!they would be nice to have in the shed maybe if it warms up this week i will go back
Many thanks to my new best friend John JC2+2. He visited the yard yesterday and grabbed the entire spindle setups for me. Now I've got to make a trip back up to Edmonton to pick them up. Way to go John!!!!!
As indicated above, John went and got the spindles for me, so I zipped up to Edmonton yesterday to pick them up. However, I figured since I was in the neighborhood, I'd go see if I could get the rear valance & front sway bar. It was a much nicer day, but again crawling around on the ground, and still a puddle under the car. As danny06 mentioned above, the side and rear glass is all good, but I forgot to check to see if it was tinted. Yesterday I checked, it's standard DCL glass.
Thanks again to John for braving the elements earlier in the week to get the spindles.
