Thanks George, nice cars you had there,i also owned a 57 bel air sport sedan about 45 years ago,it had a factory dash mounted rear view mirror, only one I ever came across.i would also love to have a nomad and would even trade my convertible for one . Percy

From what i gathered many years ago the dash mounted rear view mirrors only came on hardtops and were very (early) production U.S. cars. There were many complaints from early 57 Chev buyers about the uselessness of the mirrors when there were rear seat passengers on board. Hence very few cars with those odd ball rear view mirrors. Mopar seemed to be ok with them because they were on many of their cars for a number of years. To have one today on a 57 Chev would be very rare indeed.

How doid I ever miss this thread?? I was an area rep for 567 for many many years...Many many great memories of fun runs, awesome cars and more than my fair share of slightly inebriated foolishness.
Sadly, Annie passed recently as well. Miss them both dearly as I never missed many Friday night get togethers in their garage, and both their wisdom and advice, guided me through life for many years. Both were awesome people.

I am so sad to hear about Annie's passing. I always enjoyed talking and writing to her all those years ago. Both Annie and Ian always struck me as being good decent folks. George, i remember your name from all my years with the Fifty 567 Club. Is Fred Alexander still among us and that sweet 57 Pontiac wagon he had. George, do you still have any 55 56 57 vehicles. Glad you found this and chimed in. Cheers. smile

The last I had heard Fred is still in Saskatoon. I 'think' he sold the wagon a while ago, but as far as I know he still had the hardtop. I sold my 56 Pontiac sedan delivery a few years ago, but kept the thumper motor I had built for it. I still have the red truck, and my Bel Air two door hardtop in a million pieces... Still on the hunt for the right wagon or possibly a two door sedan...With this social distancing, I hope to get some work done on the hardtop as soon as our weather straightens out. Only a balmy -21 out there today with the windchill....

George, your 56 Pontiac sedan delivery was a cover feature car i believe. My 56 Chev 210 was a cover feature car, my 57 Chev Bel Air hardtop was featured in members cars and so was my 57 Pontiac, just shortly after i bought it in 1996. What year is your Bel Air hardtop, any pictures of cars past and present. Again good to hear from you and cheers.smile

My delivery never got past the mock-up stage. I think you might be thinking of Kent Griffith's drop dead gorgeous red delivery. When I win the lotto max tonight I'm going to track him down and just keep offering him money til he says yes! :)
I still have the truck as is other than a set of chrome reverse wheels and 3" wide whites.  The hardtop is in a million pieces in the garage....The four door is in Saskatoon, I believe.  I've had a few 567's since - a couple nice 55 Pontiac two door sedans, a nice 57 Laurentian sedan, a 57 210 sedan, and a couple 56 Pathfinders.  Still looking for a decent 567 wagon....

George, thanks for sharing that neat 567 stuff. Cheers.
