Go straight to your dealer and order a new one. They're still available from GM!

That wire loom across the top of the rad support has survived in very good shape. Rare part.

LOL, pretty much...

But seriously, order a new tank. I think they are only about 20 bucks.

They seriously still sell these? Thanks for the steer. I'll only get one though as per the 50 yr expectation that now exists.

Yes, I figured I better let you know I wasn't kidding. I have NO idea why it's still available, or at least was still just a couple of months back.

And yes, a spare is maybe not a great investment considering how they age.

Everyone on here with a 60's car should go out and buy one of these, just because.

Sooner or later they are going to need it. I've had one on the shelf for a few years now.

Like Crl says, this is the beauty of GM, until lately, they kept the same parts on models across all GM brands in many cases. When I bought my 59 El Camino, I bought new AC Delco shocks for it for about $32 each, Canadian Tire can still get a lot of stuff for a 55 up GM.
I think those old plastic jugs just dry up with age, even the ones not left out in the sun are very brittle. Plastic was still in its infancy back in the 50s and 60s.

Same happened to my tank and I changed it a few months ago. No problem getting a new one from the nearby dealer.

Have to thank you again Carl. Went to the dealer here in Langley, they had to bring it in from Edmonton. Should have it by mid week.
