Need a mesurement of a 1310 rear end yoke. 12 bolt passenger car.

Hey guys,

Would anyone happen to have a 12 bolt yoke off car that they could measure the height of for me?

I have a 1350 yoke that I'm going to use to replace the 1310 part on my diff. But before I do this, I'd like to order a new driveshaft. I'll run with the one I have until I get the new shaft, and if I can measure of the 1310 yoke in car, I can order the shaft. Thing is, I need to know how the 1310 compares to the 1350 in height. Is it taller, shorter or the same? If I install the 1350 yoke and measure, then I have to wait a couple of weeks for the shaft.

I'd assume the 1310 12 bolt yoke would be the same across any 8.875" 12 bolt. So any full size or Beaumont part should be the same. Say 65-70? I have heard it is the same height, but no proof.

Any help appreciated,

Mark

There are 2 different yokes for the 12 bolt. They allow for different width u-joints to be used. I had to change the yoke on my convertible when I put the 454/turbo 400 in it to handle the u-joints on the driveshaft. I'll see what I can get to in the garage in the next couple days. I suspect the height measurement you're looking for is the same for both yokes.

Ok, I dug up a couple yokes.  They're for the narrow & wider U-joints.   Both have the same measurement you're looking for, about 2-11/16", however yours looks to go on the splines a lot further.

Also included are photo's showing the different U-joint nesting space.   For Turbo 350 & Standard, nest for the U-joint is about 3-1/8".   For a Turbo 400 it's about 3-1/2".
