The interior appears to be custom made.  How much of the interior is original or original restored.

I LIKE IT !!! My brother Mike is still looking for a car but he is looking for a little bit of a project car. For him and his 16 year old son to work on together (Father and son project). This car only needs passenger side body work and under hood detailing. Cheers. George

That interior isn't a custom job, that is a very well preserved stock interior from 1963! The car is really neat. I think a visit to Paintless Dent Removal location might do wonders, although it looks like more of a crease on the one side.

Fun to drive and easy on gas. I wouldn't want to be dicing with semis in it though.

Do you have GM docs on this car?  Is that an original exterior color?  It looks like that maroon 66 Corvette color.  I can't get over the two tone interior in an Invader.  What is even more unbelievable is the white stripe on the glovebox door.  I've had several original 62 Acadian interiors but this 63 is way out there.

I wondered too if paintless dent repair would work on those bruises. When I had my 60 Catalina I was turned down by the paintless dent guy because he said steel from that era was too thick to remove dents this way.

Same issue I had with my Strato Chief. It has a little ding on the driver's fender. I took it to get PDR'd and he said it's too tough to push the dent out and he felt doing it put the paint at risk. I thanked him for appreciating the originality and leaving it alone rather than try it and screw it up. So I live with a ding in the fender.

I had a rather large, self imposed, dent PDR'd on my original paint 65 CS and the guy did a great job. So good in fact that a knowledgeable friend had to walk back and forth while deciding which side had been repaired.
The technician was at first hesitant to touch it but I said I'd rather have an 80 or 90% repair of original paint vs a repaint so he went at it. My estimation is he got 98 or 99%.

Hmm, that is interesting.

Maybe I should try one more shop. Nothing wrong with a second opinion.

Ted, could you please tell the C.P. brotherhood here the name of the dent repair company or this person's name, also a phone number would be helpful. This would be in Ontario of course. I have always heard that dent repair in our older cars up to the 1970's is difficult, not only because of wall thickness but also because of carbon content. It is good to know that some folks are willing to take on the challenge in that regard. Thanks for sharing. Cheers. George

I had a paintless dent repair done on the front of the bonnet on one of my 60s not long after it was painted. The guy at the Vinning garage put too much muscle into shutting the bonnet. Didn't hurt the paint at all and got about 98% of the dent out. Was happiness filled. Took him around five minutes to massage the dent out.

George. This was a local guy here in Wasaga Beach. Since I don't have his permission I'll hold back on mentioning his name. He is much younger than most of us on here. He freelances to the local shops. I do have his card and will provide specifics in a PM should anyone want to contact him.

Consider this thread officially de-railed.

Agree, but it sure makes it difficult a few months down the road when trying to find the info in the de-rail.

Good point, maybe we should start a PDR thread and members could post their experiences with various locations?

I was away for a few days so I wasn't able to follow my thread until today.

Thanks for all the nice comments guys. The only thing not original inside is the vinyl floor covering. The original was too brittle and when I installed the seat belts it cracked like crazy.

I have sales brochures that show a two tone green Invader door panel but not what the red one was like. I have a salesman's handbook that has upholstery samples and they match my car exactly.

Frank, it is hard to understand why your car has not sold yet, especially at that price. I noticed you are in Brantford. Are you going to the Hot Rod Kings and Vintage Wings car show today (Sat July 29, 2017) at the Brantford flight centre. If you are i will be with my 57 Pontiac. Maybe you can bring your 63 Invader that is for sale. Cheers. George

I didn't know about that show, but unfortunately I have too much to do to get there. I already allotted time for Bothwell on August 12. I have to check the suspension on one of my other cars because I went off track a little. The weekends are the only time I have to do anything. Have fun at the show George.

Frank
