1953 Pathfinder Steering Wheel & Column Removal

Hi all,

Tear-down is coming along well, just the removal of the steering wheel and column has me hesitant to tackle before asking as I'm relatively unfamiliar with it.  Is there a snap ring to pop off the horn button? or should it twist and pop off with a little encouragement?

I'm also not sure how the tube and column should be removed from the gearbox in the proper fashion.  Any advice the community has would be greatly appreciated :)

Hey Dustin, I was waiting for someone else to chime in but seeing as they haven't here is what I have been told about the horn, I have not done it yet! All you need to do is get a fine screw driver and pop out the center plastic logo and the steering nut is right there along with all the other stuff that has to come off. Good luck!

Cheers!

Had a feeling that was a possibility as well, I'll likely use a fine plastic spatula used for taking cellphones apart, don't want to risk gouging into it.

Appreciate all the help!!!  Body is coming off in the next couple weeks!

Dustin
