I just finished the upgrading for my 69 Beaumont convertible with a gauge package. Used gauges for GTO cluster for the where the amp temp lights and fuel now has oil pressure, temp and fuel gauges. Then where the clock or blank spot now has the factory tach. Used a GTO dash harness but probably could have used the Chevelle one at half the price? Anyway it all worked out well with a look of a factory fit.
Hello, I just finished install of the same, out came the warning lights and in went the gauges, I plugged in the harness but the temp and oil gauges not working...... help or ideas?
thanks

To test the circuit for the temp gauge, turn the key to "on", pull the wire off the temp sender in the engine and ground it. If the gauge pegs at "hot" your circuit and gauge should be good.
I forget the testing for the oil gauge. Anyone know the test for the oil gauge circuit?

If you order sending units for the GTO cluster you used you should be ok. Just make sure that you order sending units for gauges and not warning lights.

WOW-that car looks amazing-love the upgraded wheels as well=beautiful!!
The harness that plugs into the rear of the instrument cluster will need a few connections moved. The gauges use different terminal points in relation to the idiot light circuit sheet.
I performed this change on my 70 GTO years ago. Sorry I can't recall which wires off hand. Also the colour code between GTO and Beaumont wire harness is a bit different.
Interesting that they don't mention having to change the temp and oil sending units. It's a 100% guarantee that you have to do that because what you have now for those 2 is a switch that turns an oil light and a temp light on and off when the hit certain parameters.
On a temp gauge and an oil gauge the sending units must be variable to make the needles move , i.e. not just an on/off switch like you currently have.

x2 orig sending units wont work. Just had to blow up for all to enjoy!
Hey Crazy, your car looks great! Just shopping for wheels / tires for my wife's '69 that we picked up last fall. Can you tell me what size wheels/tires you went with? Thanks! Perry
