What's your neighborhood look like?

Best country in the world, overall, no doubt. Not the richest, not as progressive as some etc etc, but best scenery/lifestyle there is.

....here's a view out front taken 22 Jan 2017 and the second is out back.

Our closest neighbor is about a 1/4 mile away, amazing lack of snow last winter.

Just a few years ago I used to say our summers are out of this world and our winters are from another planet,

maybe the weather gods heard me.......and eased up on the winter for 2017

X2 So true!

I do think Canada is fairly progressive, where other countries think they are being progressive, but really are going backwards.

Supposed to be -23 on Thursday. This is extremely early for cold like this. But if it keeps you away, I'm all for it...

Here's view of the Rocky Mountains from Calgary this morning.   This was taken about 2 miles from my house.

I took this today from almost the same spot.  This time with snow on the ground, and you can see the Chinook Arch over the blue sky.  Too bad there was some cloud cover just above the mountains.

We had what I'd consider our first real snowfall last night. About 20cm. My back yard this morning. At least I don't have to cut the grass! biggrin

From our deck a few nights ago...................This is Civil Twilight, the 15-20 minutes or so after sundown.

We are 8 miles east of Winnipeg. A lava sunset.

The dike surrounding our town to protect it from flooding is a popular spot for little kids to go sliding in the winter (since there is no other place on the flats of the Red River Valley)

Not working this year no

Oh that bottom picture brings back memories.

For those who don't know, that is the Red River Valley in 2009. My neighbour and I boated 3.5 miles to the highway and took the truck into town for supplies. While we were in town, someone who knew us came to tell us out boat was filling up with water where it was pulled up on the road because the waves were washing into the boat.

We got back to find a boat at least 1/3, maybe 1/2 full... Funny thing was, we had a gas powered water pump in the truck, so rather than take a long time bailing it, we did it the easy way!

The middle picture is us boating right down the road we normally would drive on when there's no flood. There's approximately 5' of water on the road in that picture!
