  1. My wife and I have sailed on the Norwegian Getaway, identical sister to Breakaway just a beautiful ship as you could see. It looked pretty stable despite the heavy seas but for sure I wouldn't want to be on her. Cruise lines are all about service so there would be no doubt in my mind that patrons will be accommodated, Breakaway is huge one of the largest in the world  and only a few years old. Here's a couple of shots from my archives taken in fall 2015 of Getaway

Well Carl if the ship were the Concordia under the command of Captain Francesco Schettino, I could understand. I love how he abandoned the ship and according to him, "directed the rescue from the shore."  confuse

My cousin is in town on leave from a cruise ship where he has been an entertainer for years. I'll bet he has a few stories to tell...

There is always the unexpected, horny Captain, he ended up killing 32 people and got 16 years in jail.

Child's play for you East Coasters...think this is a PEI ferry. Could also tell you some West Coast stories!

I remember as a kid, summer of 1971 taking the ferry from Sydney, N.S. to Port-Aux-Basques, NFLD. Dad was seasick, the sea was rolling and our tent trailer just about floated across the Gulf despite being on the car deck.

The sea is not to be trifled with, I don't care if you are in a floating city or on the Britannia. Just how the settlers made it across the ocean on those rickety sailing ships I can't imagine.

No use for these cruises, never have never will. You might as well just be in a building.

I've done a cruise before, could take it or leave it.  Advantages include being taken to different destinations that you probably wouldn't go to on your own, often waking up at a new destination to explore.  Very leisurely way to travel.  Main disadvantage is that you are confined to a ship for most of your trip.

You are pretty much at the mercy of the weather any time you travel, but definitely are on a cruise.  I heard a story of somebody from Halifax who went on a cruise to Bermuda.  A hurricane was coming through around the time of the cruise, so they were diverted to Halifax... confuse
