67 Parisienne Convertible Roof Switch

Hi Guys

Got a question

The original dash switch on my car is unhooked

I suspect a previous owner had trouble with it???

And a good quality 15 amp togle switch is mounted under the dash

it works fine

My question , when this was all original was there some kind of safety

system that only let the top operate while in park??

Or was the original always hot?

thanks guys

if in need of a convertible top switch ; the wagon rear tailgate  window usually used the same switch. (same part #)!

No, there was no safety switch. You can operate the top when driving down the road!!!!! I'd seen a buddy of mine do it in his 67 2+2, and I've done it in my 70 2+2.

The '68 GTO switch is the same. I'm not positive but the harness may have to be altered though. https://www.ebay.ca/itm/331121963324

FWIW...I remember that a '53 Eldorado has two switches.....one on the left lower part of the dash.....
... and the other one just beside the left rear electric window switch.....(no ''top'' switch on the right side)
... so you're standing outside the car operating and manipulating the top ....
