L36 four speed survivor photo

Here's a pic of a 1969 L36 survivor, still with the AIR tubes even.  I can't explain the 427 valve cover decal though.  It appears to be a four speed car because there's no heat stove or thermac on the air cleaner.  And it's an L36 snout on the air cleaner.

The 427 decal is an aftermarket add on, Canadian Tire used to sell them.

I took that photo. It's from a 30xxx mile 69 427 4 speed 2+2 that was a one owner car at the time.

She was rough underneath though

Stored in a damp garage with a dirt floor. Shame

Cool! Credit Todd fully, I just had it my "L36" folder Now I also know what the other side of the motor looks like and the fuel filter setup, etc.

I wonder why that car had a white shifter knob. Should be silver, so far as I can tell. But shifters were often changed, maybe it had a Hurst swapped in?

Perhaps. I don't remember him saying he swapped in a Hurst shifter though.

Hmmm... here's a couple in silver.  The first is a Caprice, I believe, based on the door panels:

...and here's one in red...

...and here's a survivor 2+2 in silver...

...so I'm leaning towards silver.  Not proof, though, just a number of examples.

According to the parts book, in 68-69 the four speed shift knob depended on

- Was it a four speed
- Was it a standard trans

3921147 68-69 ALL ST FOUR SPEED WITH BENCH
3922525 68-69 ALL ST FOUR SPEED WITH BUCKET (this should be me)
3945520 69 ALL ST - WITH COLUMN SHIFT - BLACK
3973042 69 ALL ST - EX 766 - BLACK

So the three-on-the-tree is black. But I think I should have 3922525 and that part number is reproduced as the silver ball here:
