Welcome, tell us more about your car, i understand it is the rarest of the rare, originally equipped with a Pontiac 400.

What engine are you planning on using?

I recall one being in the Oshawa Auto Museum one time when I was there many years ago.  It had the white and red paint, the same as this one.

Sorry to ask, its me  ~ I never know what a Pontiac big block means. Personally since the 400 was only installed in about 10 cars or so according to our research the 400 would be the way to go. This car after all is worth restoring to factory build sheet data, its not like my worthless 73 with the 454.

Because Pontiac engines were bigger than the Chevy counterpart so they were called big block I guess

Welcome . Nice to see another Cup Edition out there . If it is a Pontiac 400 , it is the 8th one I have seen . The last one was painted black in a BC wrecking yard .
It was sold complete on Kijiji this January .
If you get the GM historical information please pm me the build date and last 4 numbers of the vin .
Most were built during last week of February first week of March .

Mike .

There's one here in PEI. The fellow who installed my new roof has one. I've been trying to find time to go see it. I'll snap photos when I do.

I've posted pictures of that car on here years ago. Spoke to the guy (I believe his name is Everett), and it has a 400 in it. I'll try to find the pictures ... ahhhh found 'em:

Is it just the ones with the 400 that are rare? Were others produced with other engines? If so, any idea as to how many of those were produced?

I recall one of these in my home town back when they were new. No idea what engine it had in it. Hard to believe it would have been one of only 10 originals.

That 1,732 number is for all 1975 GT optioned cars not Canada Cup cars. It is believed that each GM zone office got one Cup car to sell. That was about 48 in total.

If he reads his paper work it lists same model or same RPO code = 1.732 which is GT option. Canada Cup car was another special option on top of GT option.

Three of anything is rare but in this case it is probably 3 of 48 or so..  The GT option required a V8 so in '75 the choices were 350 2 & 4bbl Chevrolet and 400 Pontiac. Most were 350's.

Thanks Pontiacanada . Nice to see another . I sure wish GM Canada would have broke the numbers down more on this era of car .
