66 Quadrajet wanted

I figured I'd put up an ad just in case someone has a quadrajet for sale for a 66 396 or 427. Ideal would be manual trans, 7026205 but I'd settle for an auto trans carb 7026204 if need be. Not hurting for it because my car won't be matching numbers anyway. I have a 68 quadrajet nice core that I can use if I don't find a 66 carb. I would be willing to trade the one I have for the 66 version if that would help.

They show up on ebay. I don't mind the cost. I don't like buying a used carb off a stranger. It could be a useless piece of junk.

I've seen that one but it looks a bit scary. Could be a nice paperweight.

Is there something specific externally that identifies a 66 from other Qjets?

I know the throttle arm looks quite different on 68 but I've never checked what 67 looks like.

I just looked on ebay. The 67 arm is definitely different vs the 66 arm.

Early 67 carbs should have the same throttle arm as a 66 I believe. Later in 67 they got rid of the bushing and plastic sleeve for the throttle arm.

Ah, ok. I only looked at one on ebay. I can check the parts book with the detail of each part.

I may just end up using the 68 carb that I have, although I do have a good lead on a 66 carb right now.

hey carl , at some point I will have some big block 66 sitting here , but externally they look the same except for the linkage the base plates are the same so you could mix and match, quite frankly I never met a quad that didn't have to be modified in some way 66 is the bad one give some grief , can you post some pics in the differences between the two or three

So you would have one that's a good rebuildable core?

Carl,

I think I still have a 7026202 if you could use parts off of. I think it was pretty complete except for the choke.  If you can use it let me know and I will see if I can locate it. $50.

Also may have a 7025122

email me at Jerhra1@gmail.com

Hi Jerry

I'm working on a deal for one with another CP member right now but if that doesn't work out I'll certainly be back to you. I should know shortly.

I'll let you know either way Jerry, thank you.

Carl

And thanks to the power of Canadian Poncho I just opened a parcel from Canada Post with a very nice looking Quadrajet core for my engine.
