1969 LS1 vs L36 air cleaners

I didn't want to monkey with my nicely patina'd original air cleaner lid, since the decals aren't properly reproduced.  So rather than restore it, I'll set it aside, but I still needed a lid.  So I grabbed an Impala 335hp automatic unit off eBay just for the lid (if you have a use for the base, let me know).

You can also see the L36 is from a four speed, since it lacks the thermal valve for the heat stove, whereas the LS1 version has it.

I HAVE A COUPLE OF THE CANADIAN 396 AIR CLEANERS-Was going to list them here-not sure what they are worth or how I even ended up with them-way too many parts collected over the years-will have a look at the lids

Looking at it, I bet a talented metal guy could make one out of the other. Shorten the LS1 snorkel and weld up the heat stove. Beyond my ability to roll the lip but it looks doable! I know there aren't many four speed L36 air cleaners out there!

Dave, are the decals from this place not correct? I may have seen a picture of one long ago but I've forgotten if so.

They look pretty close but the originals are not just flat stickers, they're a 3D contoured piece.
