Hello. I?m having issues with the heater control. The selection lever moves from heat to defrost, but won?t shut off. The lever moves but it doesn?t seem to close the flapper, so heat is always coming out. Not so nice on a hot day.
I can?t seem to figure out how to access the heating chamber under the dash to check the flapper. Do I need to go in from under the hood where the heater

Here's a picture from the '67 Shop Manual,not sure how close it would be to a '69.You could have a broken cable.
