Michigan Central Station to be restored

This story ties into several of my interests, notably cars, trains, old buildings, and transportation in general.

The Michigan Central Station in Detroit has long been a famous formerly-great derelict building, since the last train rolled out of there in 1988.  I've passively followed the decline of Detroit over the years, which parallels the decline of the American auto industry, Detroit has (had) many formerly opulent buildings fall into decline and abandonment, and many fall to the wrecker's ball.  Fortunately, Central Station was not demolished, and now it looks like it will have a new lease on life.

There's a video tour of the station at this link:

Lots of other stories about it out there on the net as well...
