...and it's also green!

1959 Oldsmobile Ninety Eight Holiday Sceni-Coupe.

This one is a true, 100% survivor, with original paint and unrestored interior, etc. Not a single speck of rust anywhere, I have never ever owned a 1950's car (or any old car for that matter) that solid!

I will get it out of the barn it's been sitting in the next few days, and will get better pictures then.

I am psyched!

(By the way, I am NOT selling the Pontiac even though I got this one!)

That's a rare one.

I was talking to a fella at the Barrie Thunder car show this past weekend, who has a 59 Olds Dynamic 88 and it was stunning.

He also told me that he's had it for almost 30 years and has never seen another one, so makes me think all these 59 full sizes are very rare.

Regards, Scott (LandShark ...)

...........WOW - congrats.......what a great car....smile

I learned to drive in August 62 in my Dad's white 59 Olds Dynamic 88. Even tho it was a 4 door

my brother and I would pretend it was Lee Petty's white 59 Olds Super 88 2 door that won the Daytona 500 in 1959........biggrin

In the fall of 1959 my brother (17) took our Dad's 59 to Mohawk Drag Strip (Deseronto, Ont) and won B/SA (B Stock Automatic )

turning a blistering 17.0......he let me (13) tag along and that's when I fell in love with Drag Racing. Here's Lee's 59 and a pic

of a white 59 4 door Dynamic 88.......smile

Love those styling on these cars.

Here's a Buick version in my favourite wrecking yard. He also has an Olds, I'd say 99% complete and it has power windows.

Buddy's family car was a Dynamic 88 - 394 two door hardtop. He'd drive us to school everyday. He'd pull the same neutral drop stunt out front to the cheers and leers of our classmates.

WoW, that is indeed the exact same model, a Ninety Eight Sceni Coupe! I already know I will need the original air cleaner for sure as mine is missing.

I recognize those trees, looks like they haven't even grown much since I was there. Shoot, it's almost 2 months ago already.

Another nice 59, I like all the GM 59's except caddies. Those 60 Buicks look good too Carl.

There is a red and white 59 Olds 2 door HT I see at shows around here once in a while.

I agree, except I like all '59s, including Caddies.  I like the '60s as well.  Styling-wise I have to say the '59-'60 GMs are pretty much my all-time favourites.

I wanted to buy a '60 Lesabre 4-door hardtop that was for sale for $600 when I was a teenager, but my Dad talked me out of it because it was too rough.  It was good advice from him, but I always regret not getting it because the styling grabbed me.  Later on I did own a '60 Bel Air 2 door sedan for a couple of years, but sold it as I had too many irons in the fire.  I regret that one as well.

There is an interesting story as to how the '59s came about.  For those who are interested, Special Interest Autos had an excellent article about this special time in automotive history, which was done in two parts.

I managed to find it online, so here are the links below.  It's a really good read for those who want to take the time to go through it.

Here's a page from the article that shows what the '59 Olds could have looked like:
