I purchased what I thought was a Streamliner but after trying to decode the VIN discover it was a Canadian built car so wonder if anyone can give me a hand with deciphering the information. I have attached a picture of the VIN plate. My biggest question is with the Silver Streak name, was this an option in the Canadian models or was it only for the US production? I'm not sure if somewhere along the line the Silver Streak was added from a parts car but its on the instrument cluster and dash, its even registered here in N.B. as a 1950 Silver Streak.
A '50s guru on this site will for sure answer your questions.

Your car is a Canadian car. The name silver streak was a trade name branded on all Canadian and USA Pontiac's from late 30's thru to 1957 when the GM president at that time thought the name has out growned its usefulness. Only the us models used the names streamliner and torpedo as actual model numbers but the name plate silver streak was always on display. Canadian built cars had different model names but not as glamorous as the usa ones And they also displayed the silver streak emblem. The model number 2211 would indicate that your car is a deluxe two door 1950 Canadian Pontiac. Hope this helps. Send us some pix of your car and I might be able to tell you more about it as I have lots of info on Pontiac of the fifties. Bob.

Thanks for the information this makes me feel better knowing the Silver Streak fits with the car. I'll uploaded some pictures but since it's been modified it might be less easy to identify items that are particular to this year, interior pictures will come later.
