I use to go to Carlisle every year and found NOS parts for my various cars over the years. I love being the first person to actually open the box, fresh parts.

Nothing more satisfying than finding nos parts. Lots of times these parts were factory or dealer rejects with very slight flaws. It is very difficult to find unopened boxes now as most people want to open the box and check out the part and attaching parts to see if it was complete. I was lucky and found a nos Autronic Eye complete kit at Bothwell last weekend for 1953 54 Chevrolet and bought it.

We also got to meet Mr. Chauvin who was the original founder of CARS in Michigian and had a 1 hour chat with him. He is currently restoring 2 1955 Pontiac Safari stationwagons. He sold his portion of the business in 2010.

Al, congrats on finding that super rare and special Autronic Eye system. I bought mine for my 57 from a gent in the U.S that specializes in them for all cars. Al, if you need parts for your system i can pass on this experts name and number. He sold me a turn key restored unit that works great and there is nothing this man does not know about these special units. Cheers. George

I guess I don't get the title of this thread. What does this have to do with Venezuela?

Thanks George . The Autronic Eye is a complete system that is just missing a couple of pieces of hardware that I will have in my shop. It is a six volt system with all the instructions and templates. When I spotted it in Bothwell I immediately bought it.

So Kevin, which car is that NOS tail light assembly for? Initially I was thinking 1964 Grand Prix, but no.

You bought it, and had it sent up from Venezuela?

Seller on eBay lives in Venezuela and has a bunch of NOS parts for sale. $30 to ship to my US mail box. Took a week to clear export office then only a couple of days to my box

I've bought from South America many times (no problems).

Some of my easiest and cheapest buys come from non-North American sellers. I always find it funny that foreign shipping costs are cheaper than shipping costs from the U.S.confuse
