casually looking for a cool Pontiac wagon...

I have been thinking of late about the merits of getting an older Pontiac wagon as a road trip family hauler...

I have no timeline, right now my kids are one and three years old.

I would prefer to deal locally, but if the right car/opportunity should arise, I am not against travelling to get it.

If you have a wagon that you're contemplating selling, maybe keep me in mind - I would really hope to find one that has been cared for, and the owner has come to decide to pass it on to someone else to care for, and enjoy it...

It doesn't have to be Pontiac, but since I have a real soft spot for Pontiac's, that's my preference.

While I'm sharing my preferances, I do prefer stick, but am guessing if I find one, it will be auto.

I like the 70-72 A-body wagons, but of late am actually growing quite fond of the 1980's Paresienne (?spelling) wagons with cloth interior, and the third row fold up seat...

This (attached image) was a SUPER cool Chevelle wagon that I saw at the Portland Swap meet this past spring.

I'm thinking the kids would love the view from a Vista Cruiser !

You can always bolt a Beaumont front clip on it !

they probably would... but like I said, I'd prefer to deal locally, prefer one already done and well cared for, and am in no rush...

I actually forgot about this thread;
I'm taking my interests (at least temporarily) off the market, as we bought a truck this past spring;

It's no cool family roadtrip vehicle, but most people can use a truck, and this one is special to me;
It's a 1992 Chevrolet 1/2 ton 4x4 "Sport" model, which happens to be the only 'cool' truck that my maternal grandfather bought.

This truck has never left the family, and when opportunity to buy it came up, I jumped.

If my grandfather didn't baby it so much in the nine years he drove it, it would have absolutely been repainted - it shows the defective paint that was done at the time;

My uncle who was the second owner said he went theough LOTS of touch up paint, but after a while he gave up, then he passed it to his first son, who passed it to his brother - who I got it from.

Its called delamination, I had an 89 Chev that did that and got a new paint job by gm when it was 4 years old. I like that truck, looks in great shape.
