65 parisienne passenger mirror and hardware

as it says.......looking for a good condition passenger mirror and mounting hardware/bracket.

My 65 Parisienne doesn't have one and it's making me a bit crazy trying to backup in tight situations. Thanks!

A proper passenger side mirror may be hard to find, as it needs to be able to swivel enough to offer the driver a good view. Often people install a driver's side mirror on the passenger side, only to realize they can't see anything.

very few cars in the 60's had a right side mirror. Did the Canadian Pontiac even offer one ??

I've seen a couple 1970 Cdn Pontiac B-body cars with manual left & right mirrors, likely from the factory. The shaft from the bracket to the mirror must be long enough to allow the mirror to swivel much more than the drivers side mirror.

Not sure a separate passenger mirror was available for the 65s.
I bought a repro 65 drivers mirror and adapted it for the passengers side.
As others have said if you mount it in the matching location to the driver's side mirror then the head won't swivel enough to view along the edge of the car like the driver's side does.
My solution was to hold the mirror in place, swivel the head over as much as possible note where the head touches the shaft and then take a small rectangular file and file a notch into the shaft. The head should now swivel farther and allow the sight line you're looking for. If not file some more until you get it.
It's been 10+ years since I did mine and no sign of deterioration of the head or shaft ( I thought the shaft might corrode after being notched...hasn't yet )

Hope I've explained it. Don't know if my camera would get close enough to show it or not.

It's small but you can see the mirror in my avatar.

Mirrors are plentiful at swap meets and the same mirror covers a number of years. If not Ames Performance has them.

Repro non bowtie door mirrors for 65 canadian chevrolet or pontiac are readily available these days, but the passenger side as usual doesn't swivel enough to be useful.
Seems to me the repros are both based on the driver side mirror, although originally there were different mirrors with different part numbers for each side for the 65 dealer accessory mirrors.
An NOS 65 dealer accessory mirror does give more swivel than a repro.

Here's a couple of mirror mounting templates for 65 chevy b body that might apply to all GM b body?

I've got a complete drivers side setup from a 66, not sure if it's the same as 65. I can post a photo later.
