the car is a laurentian 2dr ht the tag reads stlye 2037d body# 15w32 bso 213 303 340 372 piant sp1416 trim 913 what does the w in the body # stand for and the sp in piant code thanks willard
SP in the paint code is special paint usually meaning two tone with the second colour covering more than just the roof only available in Canada on 2037D and 2067D models. All other models that had two tone paint were referred to as "conventional" with the roof as a second colour. Some 2011D Laurentian 2 door and 4 door sedan models were also available with the special two tone if specifically ordered.
213 Heavy duty springs and shock absorbers
303 Power brakes
340 V8 engine
I have never seen a body no. with a letter in the sequence only numbers.
The 372 option number I do not know for certain but could possibly be back up lights.
As you've already said body 2037D is a Laurentian 2dr hardtop 6 passenger. It had a list price of $2914 and weight of 3310 lbs. They were made in Oshawa and serial numbers began with 72037D600001 and went up if a 261 cu in 6 cylinder and 72037D800001 and up if a 283 V-8.
2 tone paint codes I can't be sure of but my book in the 2 tone section shows --14 as Dusty Rose metallic over Dover White and --16 as Chateau Grey Metallic over Imperial Ivory
Taken by themselves code --14 is Sierra Gold metallic and --16 is Laurel Green metallic. Would Pontiac have put these 2 colours together?
My swatch page shows code X014 as Laurel Green metallic and X014 as Sierra Gold metallic. Bottom of the sheet says " for two tone combinations please refer to your Canadian Colour Information booklet " which I don't have.
I belive it is dusty rose for the firewall is that color roof is dover white and the stripe might have been chateau grey will know better when I get the car home it could have been repianted thanks willard
