700R4 inspection cover problems


Im trying to find out the size of the bolts that hold on the inspection cover ? They are missing on my 700R4

I had the same problem, they are not bolts but a #14 screw . My 700r4  is a 1986

The GM parts catalogue for a 92 p/u 4L60 (700 trans) describes this tapping screw. I thought it was a threaded bolt, but it says this-

TAP,M6.3X1.81X20,13.2

The 700R4 came out of a 1985 C10. Noticed the cover was held on by two screws. Thought this was odd.
