Bought a Chevy dash and I don't even own a Chevy

It's not a Pontiac, but I like to specialize in rare dashes... while I don't have the uber-rare speed warning gauge unit that John has for 69, I found this quite rare full dash for 1968 Impala.

I had it restored and recalibrated and rebuilt... except I'm probably $2500 deep into this unit now so someone better have a fancy 427 Impala!

Thats cool. Who did it ? Were there different redlines for different engines ? L48 versus L72 ?

A neat thing about those nice rare needle gauge clusters is that they were optional on any V8 big Chevy. Any series from Biscayne through Caprice. Too bad more people didn't see the value of ordering the gauges back then.

Oh, nice work on the cluster, Dave! thumbsup.gif

That might be an exaggeration but I think it was 500 to buym, 1200 to restore, 300 in parts, it adds up! As said, I'm just going to put bulb and 12V supply in it and it's wall art for now!

Good idea! I have a speed warning version of this too.. so maybe temp AND humidity! If it weren't so rare...

I actually bought both to see if I could combine into a full-gauge spedd warning, but not sure...
