Yes one will be made for a Rochester 4GC and one is for a Carter carb.

The 4gcs had a small base square bore for most, Id say the 300 hp carter was an afb with a slightly larger square bore footprint, same size as the Holley and Edelbrock. The 300hp is likely the better one for the 337 imho.

Hi all question !! I have been putting off my 327 40 over L 79 cam rebuild ,was wanting to put the carter carb and 300hp oem intake that is on my 283 on the 327..but really do you think I would really notice a big difference in hp if I just put the 250 hp intake and rochester quad on the 327 ? I think high end maybe not as good but really not going to be a race car or see much high end anyways..what do you think ?? Thank youi !!

I think the cam in a 63 327 250 and 300 hp was the same; the 250 had the same 2 inch manifolds as the 283, the 327 had 2.5 inch exhaust manifolds. The 283 and 327-250 had triangle heads (Power pack nickname), the 300 had camel humps. The 283 was a 2 barrel 195 HP; earlier than 62 you could get a 283 4 barrel with triangle heads , it was 230HP.

So what do you have for exhaust manifolds and heads? Depending on what you have, the HP stock varied from 250 to 300 on a 327, with most of the extra power coming from the heads and exhaust manifolds. To answer your question, I'd guess considering the variables, you're talking 20-30Hp difference? Likely not noticeable for driving on the street.
