WANTED 1966 - 1969 Beaumont

No luck on the Lounge forum so figured I would try here?  Hope that's okay. Please let me know if I need to say my actual top price budget.

Hi everyone, I'm on the hunt for a new toy after stupidly letting my 68 Beaumont go last year (I've tried to buy it back FOR MONTHS  to no avail)

Fairly open to many GM products but since this Canadian Poncho biggrin I'll limit it to one of the following; 66-69 Beaumont (preferably a convertible) or 66-67 Acadian Canso. (Though I would take the equivalent Chevelle or a 67-69 Camaro/Firebird too wink). Not looking for a project and I believe my budget is enough to get something fairly nice, but don't want a $50K + show car nor expect a mint SD.   I've been scouring CL, Kijiji etc so this request is just to see if anyone is considering selling soon, hasn't advertised or know someone who is. I will do my best to respond to those that present cars of interest but if I don't respond, please accept my apologies as I'm not meaning to be rude, simply trying to avoid wasting anyone's time.  Would ideally like to find something in BC or AB to limit travel and delivery hassle and costs.  Thanks in advance for any leads.

Was looking at a 68 and a 69 Beaumont Convertibles through another post but neither  turned out to be the right car.  A big shout out to Mark and Todd for all their insight and comments to that thread and A HUGE one to Don for offering to go look at the NS one if I was serious, such a selfless and generous offer considering he was about an hour away.

I've seen a few interesting ones on kijiji, but I haven't posted as I'm sure you already saw them.  I hope you find what you're looking for, but it's a tough time of year because most are probably in storage by now.

Good luck with your search!

Thanks guys, found a couple 67 Camaro near Calgary but both were gone quickly. There's another 68 Firebird 400 Convertible near Regina but just like the 2 Beaumont, such a big investment in time and money just to go look.

Hey BUDDY,

There is a guy on this site with a yellow 66 or 7 Acadian.

Met him at 192 nd and 28 Ave in Surrey a couple times as well as the Langley Good times show.

He was going to sell his car over the winter season.

Anyhow, kinda in your ball park, Hope you find a ride, Summer is coming in 4 months here.

Ken

Thanks Ken, I guess I'll see if that fellow sees the post? I've seen a few good candidates, Pontiacs and Chevrolets, but either they're so far away it's difficult to arrange to see them or they are snapped up quickly.

I backed off a bit over the Christmas vacation but will start to hunt with a bit more effort, I'm kinda 'picky' I guess you could say but if I'm parting with $20-$30K of my hard earned money I want to really LOVE the car, and feel the same way for many years after. I learned my lesson with my previous 68 Convertible as I've been trying to buy it back for months as I'm kicking myself for letting it go....

Still rooting for you!  I hope you find something that puts a smile on your face!

I'm part of the club of people who have sold cars that they shouldn't have, but mine was years ago.  A few years later prices jumped and have continued to be crazier ever since, just like the proverbial carrot being dangled from a stick... always just out of reach! lol

Calvin, I think we traded emails a month ago , but the red 66 SD convertible on Kijiji , or it was , is a super good car . Red with red interior , and black top, just a 283 car , but you wont find a better rag top , but he was mid $30s last fall

Thanks Mark, I appreciate you rooting for me biggrin  I keep bugging the owner of my old car but he's not ready to sell it back to me, I even offered him another $3K but he said he would feel guilty charging me more than he paid.  He's a stand up guy so I truly believe he'll give me first dibs when he does sell, just don't know if that will be next year or 5??  I'm trying to forget about it and just move on to a new car to start a new love, lol. wink

 Hi Bob,

Yes we did and I really appreciated you reaching out to me. Car has been on and off Kijiji for a bit, when we communicated last it was $35K firm, then off, just popped up again at $39,500 OBO, and quickly changed to SOLD in ad but left ad up still.  I think that's his tactic based on the 68 he has I originally considered. Don't know what real situation is with it but sure sounds nice based on your assesment.  Just wish it was easier for me to view at this time of the year since $35K is very top of my budget. (Want to buy a new motorcycle this year too wink)

Jeff, totally understand,...the price did jump around a bit didnt it,...but it was a great car. From when he bought it from me , I know he cleaned it up pretty good, did a great cut and polish on the older paint , and it sure looked sharp. If I hear or see of anymore convertibles will definitely try and pass on .
Good luck

Good morning,My Father in law and I both have pretty clean Beaumonts. We've both been entertaining the thought of selling them. Both been in the family for years.I actually originally owned both before I sold him one.His is a 68 Beaumont SD,been painted and interior redone.Has the matching number 396(rebuilt).Trans has been changed out over the years before I bought it.I have a 1 owner 1969 Beaumont that I got from the original owners nephew who was a dodge guy.So he never touched it.It still has the original straight 6.I had it repainted and some new interior put in.Feel free to contact me.I'm selling the 68SD in behalf of my father in law(he's75),and I'm not sure if I want to let mine go,but possibly.(I live out of country). Thanks,Mark
