For example if you take your packages across the Manitoba/ North Dakota border to mail out of Pembina

 

Anyway like other people have mentioned I too have found that USPS postage rates have gone up

However there is something available - it is called USPS Smart post

 

My two recent shipping experiences have illustrated the savings that can be had

Example1 - was shipping a vintage typewriter to Texas - USPS Economy was coming up as 45.00 ( the typewriter weighed 20 lbs) - Smart post was 31.00

Example 2 - shipping a set of 4 hubcaps to Alabama - USPS Economy was coming up as 35.00 - Smart post was 20.00

 

As I understand it Smart Post rates come from an arrangement that USPS has with Fedex
